The great Australian hardcore band Speed are currently on a headlining North American tour in support of their killer debut LP Only One Mode, and that tour is about to hit NYC on Tuesday (9/24) at Elsewhere Hall with Angel Du$t, Big Boy, and Hangman; and Wednesday (9/25) at LPR with The Chisel, Firewalker, Nothin’ But Enemies, and Heads Will Roll. And some of those opening bands have since announced more of their own dates, including more shows happening in and around NYC.
The Chisel, the UK Oi! band who also released one of this year’s best punk albums with What A Fucking Nightmare, will play TV Eye on Tuesday (9/24) with Suffocating Madness and The Stress. That’s part of a US tour that kicks off this weekend with Riot Fest and a Riot Fest Aftershow.
UPDATE: The Chisel had to cancel their entire US tour.
The Bay Area’s Big Boy will return to the Northeast in November for shows with Extinguish, Queensway, Splitknuckle, and Natural Human Instinct, including Long Island’s Amityville Music Hall on 11/14, CT’s Putnam Elks Lodge on 11/15, NJ’s Shore Style Collective on 11/16, and Baltimore’s Ottobar on 11/17 (no Queensway or Splitknuckle on that one).
Angel Du$t will also be at Amityville Music Hall on November 11 with local support from Family Dinner, Private Mind, and Heavy Hex, and that falls in the midst of a tour supporting Say Anything.
As previously mentioned, Glasgow metallic hardcore bruisers Nothin’ But Enemies are playing their first US shows on this run, and they also have other dates, including Poughkeepsie’s Reason & Ruckus on 9/26; NJ’s Salty’s Beach Bar on 9/27 with Final Resting Place, Moment of Truth, Fatal Realm, and Human Buster; and Brooklyn’s Wood Shop on 9/29.
And last but definitely not last, speaking of bands Angel Du$t have toured with, Mesa, AZ hardcore-turned-shoegazy-rock band The Beautiful Ones just announced their first show in years, For The Children 2024.
