M for Montreal, the music festival and industry conference, will hold its 2024 edition on November 20 – 23 at venues all over Montreal. They’ve just announce this year’s full Official Selection lineup, featuring a mix of English and French-language bands picked from across Canada. Those artists are: Population II, Living Hour, Jane Penny (TOPS), Housewife, Begonia, myst milano., Lubalin, Katie Tupper, Wyatt C. Louis, Fleece, ALIAS, Alix Fernz, Astral Swans, Charlie Houston, Vox Rea, DVTR, KROY, Naomi, Shaina Hayes, Unessential Oils, Ya Cetidon, Claudia Bouvette, Goodbye Karelle, Velours Velours, Grimelda, Grand Eugène, and Soleil Launière. The Official Selection artists will play at M for Montreal’s official showcases, but there are even more bands that play on Friday and Saturday of the festival including Bibi Club, Karkwa, Peter Peter, and lots more, including many artists still to be announced.
BrooklynVegan and M for Montreal are longtime friends and collaborators and the festival is a great place to see rising bands, discover artists you’ve never heard, Francophone acts who rarely dip below the US border, and for industry folks it’s a great place to meet and network, not to mention check out Montreal.
