High Vis recently released their very good new single “Mob DLA” and confirmed their third album, and today they’ve officially announced it. Titled Guided Tour, it was produced by Fucked Up’s Jonah Falco and engineered by Stanley Gravet (who both also worked on 2022’s Blending), and it comes out on October 18 via Dais Records (pre-order). It includes “Mob DLA,” as well as new single “Mind’s A Lie,” which goes in a much different direction than this band ever has before.
With sampled vocals by South London singer/DJ Ell Murphy, a live-band four-on-the-floor rhythm section, and Graham Sayle’s gritty bark, it sounds like a punk band’s recreation of house music. It’s unique, inventive, and it sounds more natural than you might expect from the description. Modern-day post-punk that really feels like it’s “post-” something. It comes with a video written and directed by Martina Pastori, and starring Welsh movement artist Sem Osian, that “explores themes of class, isolation and loneliness.” Graham explains:
I wanted to look at how quickly negative habits can take control when you lack a positive or constructive outlet for your energy. While the language of mental health provision has found fertile ground in the churn of social media, access to essential services has been decimated by the indifference of successive Tory governments. Further division has been stoked through governmental rhetoric and media scapegoating. Without adequate support in times of crisis, life can quickly spiral into an angry and isolated existence.

High Vis are gearing up to open part of Show Me The Body‘s fall North American tour, including the show at NYC’s Knockdown Center on November 2 with BIB, ZelooperZ, and HiTech, and they also just announced two headlining Europe/UK tours, with support from Pain of Truth in November/December and Narrow Head in February of 2025.
