Father John Misty will release a best-of compilation, Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams and My Dreams Said to Crawl, which will be out on CD and as a double-LP set on August 16 via Sub Pop.
In addition to songs pulled from his five solo albums, Greatish Hits also features the first appearance of non-LP cut “Real Love Baby” on vinyl or CD. There’s also a new song, “I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All,” which sounds like an amalgam of late ’70s disco and country with FJM’s signature knowing, self-deprecating lyrical style. Father John Misty will be on tour with Kacey Musgraves this fall, including a NJ show at Prudential Center on September 9 with Nickel Creek also on the bill. He’s also just announced a few headline shows, happening in Montana, Washington and California, with Omar Velasco.
