Austra shares new single “Siren Song,” announces 2026 tour

Austra‘s new album and first since 2020, Chin Up Buttercup, is out in November, and she’s given us another preview with the gorgeous “Siren Song.” She co-wrote it with Patrick Holland, and says, “‘Siren Song’ exists somewhere at the intersection of ABBA, Ray of Light, The X-Files and Greek mythology. ABBA inspired the early songwriting with Patrick. The Siren introduced herself to me while I was improvising the demo recordings and I quickly realized that Orpheus would be our common nemesis. Following a recent X-Files binge, I was heavily inspired by Mulder’s desperate search for his sister. Ray of Light came in at the end as my co-producer Kieran Adams and I were establishing the sonic realm which would become the backdrop for our Siren to lament the loss of her lover to Orpheus and his pesky Lyre.” Watch the video, directed by Vanessa Magic, below.

Austra also announced a 2026 tour, beginning with a North American run in January before shows in Latin America, Europe, and the UK through March. There’s an NYC show at Baby’s All Right on January 11, and tickets to that and all dates go on sale Friday, October 10 at 10 AM local, with an artist presale starting Wednesday, October 8 at 10 AM local.
