Allegra Krieger announces new b-sides EP & NYC show (hear “Impasse”)

NYC-based singer-songwriter Allegra Krieger released her fourth full-length album, I Keep My Feet On The Fragile Plane, in July, and she’s now announced she’ll follow it with a new EP, Fragile Plane: B-Sides, on October 20 via Double Double Whammy. Its seven songs were engineered by Jeremy Harris and co-produced with Harris and Luke Temple, and you can see the cover art and tracklist below.

The first single is “Impasse,” a wry folk track which Krieger says is “about this country, inspired by the attempted reelection of Donald Trump during quarantine and the noise & darkness imbued in the political games during that time. Juxtaposed next to natural disasters, disease, and wildfires, it all felt so naive, and, for me, amplified the reality of humanity’s impermanence and ignorance.” Hear it below.

Krieger has shows with Luke Temple, Angel Olsen, and Jake Xerxes Fussell coming up, and she’s announced a new headlining NYC date at Public Records on November 17. Tickets go on sale soon; see all of her upcoming shows below.
