This past weekend was the Medimex festival in Taranto, Italy where Pulp headlined on Sunday with The Jesus and Mary Chain right before them. JAMC are known for bringing out special guests to sing backing vocals on their classic Psychocandy single “Just Like Honey,” and in Italy that honor went to Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker. You can watch that below.
The Mary Chain’s set also featured singer Rachel Conte on “Girl 71” from the band’s new album Glasgow Eyes (she sings it on the album too), and they played lots of classics, including “Happy When it Rains,” “Head On,” “Blues from a Gun,” “Reverence,” and “A Taste of Cindy.”
Pulp’s headline set included, appropriately, Different Class deep cut “Bar Italia” (which the band hadn’t played since 2012), “Common People,” “Disco 2000,” “Do You Remember the First Time,” “Like a Friend,” and more.

Pulp play their first North American shows in 12 years this fall, while The Jesus and Mary Chain will be on tour with The Psychedelic Furs.
