The Cure‘s long-awaited Songs of a Lost World is finally here and it’s great. The band have been celebrating this week in London, having played a special show for the BBC on Wednesday, and today they’re playing the official album release show at club Troxy. As a nice gift to fans, they’re livestreaming the show on their YouTube beginning at 4 PM Eastern. Will they play the album in full? Will it be one of their three-hour marathons?
UPDATE: The played Songs of a Lost World in full, which was part of a three-hour marathon show that included a second set of classics, an encore of songs from Seventeen Seconds to celebrate its 45th birthday, and then a second encore with even more. Watch and check out the setlist below.
Robert Smith says The Cure will tour starting in fall 2025, that their next album is nearly done, and they’ll be busy through 2028, which is the 50th anniversary of the band. The year after that is Robert’s 70th birthday, which he says is probably a good place to stop.
