The Maccabees confirm 2025 reunion, playing All Points East

UK indie staples The Maccabees broke up in 2016, one year after releasing their fourth album Marks to Prove It, and members went on to pursue other projects, but they’ve just confirmed that they’ll return in 2025. They put up a new teaser video captioned “2025,” and it ends by suggesting we’ll learn more this Monday (10/28). They also posted a new live video with the title “This was the last time…”

UPDATE (10/28): It’s official, The Maccabees have made their first show announcement since breaking up; they’ll be playing an All Points East show on August 24 in Victoria Park and support comes from Bombay Bicycle Club, Dry Cleaning, The Cribs, Nilüfer Yanya, The Murder Capital, Divorce, Prima Queen, and more TBA.. An AmEx presale is underway now, and the rest of the lineup is TBA.

Maccabees singer Orlando Weeks has released three solo albums since the band broke up, 2020’s A Quickening, 2022’s Hop Up, and this year’s Loja, which includes a song and video featuring Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale.

Guitarists and brothers Felix and Hugo White also formed a new band called 86TVs with their younger brother Will and drummer Jamie Morrison (of Stereophonics and Noisettes), and they released their self-titled debut album earlier this year.
