Sade Adu (of Sade) has shared her contribution to the upcoming Red Hot compilation TRAИƧA. “Young Lion,” a solo song written with Aaron Taylor Dean and Ben Travers, is a song for her trans son, Izaak, and is as gorgeous and transportive as you’d expect. “Trans people have always existed, often as spiritual healers and leaders,” she wrote on Instagram. “As global systems continue to fail, the journey of trans people serves as a blueprint of possibility. May this offer a glimpse of our collective liberation.”

There’s also L’Rain‘s tribute to ANOHNI, “People Are Small / Rapture,” featuring The NYC Trans Oral History Project, Lauren Auder‘s cover of Prince’s “I Would Die 4 U” featuring Wendy & Lisa, Beverly Glenn-Copealnd & Sam Smith‘s “Ever New,” and André 3000‘s 26-minutes “Something Is Happening And I May Not Fully Understand.” You can listen to all of those below.
TRAИƧA is out November 22 (preorder) and features 100 artists over 46 tracks, including Jeff Tweedy, Julien Baker, Perfume Genius, Moses Sumney, Laura Jane Grace, Sharon Van Etten, Yaeji, Fleet Foxes, Adrianne Lenker, Cassandra Jenkins, Moor Mother and more. Proceeds will support “vital LGTBQ+ organizations at the same time it culturally invigorates the fight for trans rights.”
