Shiner reissuing classic albums (exclusive color vinyl)
Shiner helped shape the heavy/shoegaze crossover in the ’90s and early 2000s, and they’ve now announced reissues of their four classic pre-reunion albums, 1996’s Splay, 1997’s Lula Divinia, 2000’s Starless, and 2001’s The Egg, via Spartan Records. They’ve all been out of print for years, and we have exclusive color variants of all four; they’re available for pre-order now. Splay has been remixed from the original tapes by Paul Malinowski and remastered by Mike Nolte at Eureka Mastering, with new art by Jordan Butcher at Strange Practice. The reissue is its first vinyl pressing since its original release in 1996, and we have an opaque red variant, limited to 200 copies. Lula Divinia has also been remastered for vinyl, and this will be its first pressing since 2017; we have a sea blue variant, limited to 300. Starless (milky clear vinyl, limited to 200) and The Egg (transparent orange vinyl, limited to 300) are both each getting their first vinyl pressings since the mid-2010s, too. Shiner will also celebrate the reissues with a few shows this summer. See all dates below.
