Oasis‘ debut album, Definitely Maybe, turns 30 this year and to celebrate they’re releasing a deluxe deluxe edition on August 30 that features loads of previously unreleased tracks, including the original, scrapped sessions from Monnow Valley studios. One of those has now been shared, the Monnow Valley version of album deep cut “Up in the Sky.”
“Up In The Sky (Monnow Valley Version)” has been newly mixed by Noel Gallagher for the box set. It’s a little smoother than the loud and rough-at-the-edges version that would end up as the song immediately after “Live Forever” on Definitely Maybe. You can watch the new lyric video for it, and listen to the Definitely Maybe version below.
While the Gallagher brothers can’t get along well enough to do the Oasis reunion that everyone wants, Liam Gallagher has been playing Definitely Maybe on tour all summer, and has a few more shows in August including the Reading and Leeds festivals.
