So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
JPEGMAFIA – “SIN MIEDO”
JPEGMAFIA added Jane Remover and select dates with RXK Nephew to his upcoming tour, and he also released what may or may not be a new single from the new album he’s been teasing. It’s an erratic song that could only come from the mind of JPEGMAFIA and it’s a great one.

RESPIRE – “THE SUN SETS WITHOUT US”
Orchestral screamo/post-rock band Respire have shared the third single off their upcoming album Hiraeth, and it’s another mini epic. The band says: “’The Sun Sets Without Us’ covers plenty of stylistic ground – featuring arpeggiated melodies countered by driving horns, an ode to sassy art punk, a captivating, accelerating buildup with haunting gang vocals punctuated by raw screams, and a crushing climax. The song is about our precarious position as immigrants, and a warning that those who come after us now will come after you next.”

FUCKED UP – “DIVINING GODS”
Fucked Up have shared the third single from their upcoming album Another Day, and it’s another great example of Fucked Up’s unique take on anthemic hardcore. Vocalist Damian Abraham says, “As with all the songs on Another Day having some sort of relationship with their counterpoint on One Day, ‘Diving Gods’ is the continuance of the conversation started with ‘Nothing’s Immortal.’ While the first song dealt with loss in belief in an idol, Diving Gods is questions the need to make idols in the first place.”

SLUMPED – “ALONE”
Oakland’s Slumped have a new album called Last Day On Earth on the way, and its latest single “Alone” has some strong ’90s Weezer vibes.

JAE SKEESE – “SITUATED” (ft. BIG K.R.I.T. & SAUCE WALKA)
Jae Skeese is gearing up to release his new album Ground Level on August 16 via Conway the Machine’s Drumwork label, and its new single “Situated” is an early-aughts-era-sounding rap song featuring Big K.R.I.T. and Sauce Walka.

JESSICA BOUDREAUX – “CUT AND RUN”
The Faster I Run, the new album from former Summer Cannibals leader Jessica Boudreaux, comes out this Friday, and ahead of its release she’s shared a final advance single, the rocking “Cut and Run.”

FAT DOG – “WITHER”
UK group Fat Dog release their debut album, WOOF., on September 6 and here’s another fun single from it complete with a computer-animated video that nods to ’90s video games. “I wanted it to feel like a real PS1 or 2 game that I would have played when I was a kid,” says the video’s director Ryan Vautier. “Fat Dog’s music has the chaotic energy me and my brother had, smashing down soft drinks and arguing over who got the top split screen.”

BEN KATZMAN’S DEGREASER FT. GUERILLA TOSS – “FINAL VIBAL”
Former Guerilla Toss member Ben Katzman has shared a new single where he reteams with his old bandmates and is about his experience as a contestant about Survivor. “‘Final Vibal’ is truly a celebration of the homies who stuck it out together for the long run,” says Been. “Nine years ago I was in Guerilla Toss. We’ve all come a long way since starting out in basements so to be able to reconvene and rock at this point where our dreams are becoming realities feels so sick. ‘Final Vibal’ is definitely a nod to Survivor’s Final Tribal. Dance Punk music laden with kraut metal guitar riffs sprinkled with congas and all things shred.”

ACID KLAUS FT PHILLY PIPER – “AERODROMES” (DAVID HOLMES REMIX)
Sheffield electronic artist Acid Klaus just released the You’re A Freak EP as well as this remix of “Aerodromes” by David Holmes and featuring Philly Piper. Things get pretty trippy pretty quick.

EYEDRESS – “DRIVIN”
The latest single from Eyedress has just a smidge of country twang to it, by way of Mac DeMarco, albiet in his own unique way.

DELICATE STEVE – BABY” (DONNIE & JOE EMERSON COVER)
Delicate Steve has covered cult duo Donnie & Joe Emerson’s “Baby,” for his new album Delicate Steve Sings. “While I was working on Delicate Steve Sings, I only listened to one artist at a time when I listened to music,” says “Delicate” Steve Marion. “Whatever artist it was, that was all I wanted to listen to for about a month, until the next artist would find me. First it was Frank Sinatra. Then Fats Domino. Chet Baker came. Portishead after that. Donnie & Joe stopped by out of nowhere one weekend, and I found myself listening to Baby all over again while driving back and forth to recording sessions. It was in one of these moments that I decided to sing it.” Note: when Steve says “sing” he means his guitar.

KIM DEAL – “COAST”
The Breeders‘ Kim Deal has released a new solo single, a breezy horn-inflected song titled “Coast.” It was recorded with the late Steve Albini at his Electrical Audio studios in Chicago and it features her twin sister, Kelley, on guitar.

OASIS – “UP IN THE SKY (MONNOW VALLEY VERSION)”
Oasis‘ debut album, Definitely Maybe, turns 30 this year and to celebrate they’re releasing a deluxe deluxe edition on August 30 that features loads of previously unreleased tracks, including the original, scrapped sessions from Monnow Valley studios. One of those has now been shared, the Monnow Valley version of album deep cut “Up in the Sky” which has been newly mixed by Noel Gallagher. It’s a little smoother than the loud and rough-at-the-edges version that would end up as the song immediately after “Live Forever” on Definitely Maybe.
