James Stuteley of New Zealand duo Carb On Carb now also makes music as Yon Loader, and he’s releasing the project’s self-titled debut album on September 13 via Tiny Engines (pre-order). It was made with engineer and producer Harry Lilley, and it features contributions from a cast of rotating collaborators, including members of Recitals, Welcomer, For Everest, Model Home, Fouler, First Move, and Bad Friend. Yon Loader recently released lead single “Another Year,” and we’re now premiering second single “Tied Up In.”
Like Carb On Carb, Yon Loader channels the indie-emo of the American midwest, and “Tied Up In” is a somber, delicate song made up of slippery clean guitars, melancholic strings, a heartstring-tugging vocal delivery from James, and an insistent beat that gives the song its pumping heart.
