Militarie Gun have shared a video for “Never Fucked Up Once,” one of the many highlights off this year’s great Life Under The Gun. It was directed by Audri Mirzaie, and it finds band leader Ian Shelton getting the shit kicked out of him. Check it out below.
Militarie Gun have also announced a split 7″ with MSPAINT, featuring the MSPAINT collab “Can’t Get None” from last year’s All Roads Lead To The Gun (Deluxe) and the Militarie Gun collab “Delete It” from MSPAINT’s 2023 debut LP Post-American. It’s called Paint Gun, and it’s a split release between Loma Vista and Convulse. Pre-orders are up now.
MSPAINT keyboardist Nick Panella also just remixed PONY‘s “Haunted House” and you can check that out below too. “As soon as I heard ‘Haunted House,’ I was taken back to watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer or American Horror Story (season 1 obviously),” Nick said. “I knew I wanted to do something that sounded like a zombified version of Cibo Matto or Sneaker Pimps. [MSPAINT drummer] Quinn [Mackey] helped me with a lot of the details. For instance, using the clip of Sam’s gasp to punctuate the hits was his idea. We’re so thankful PONY let us take their song to the lab.”
Militarie Gun and MSPAINT will both be supporting the upcoming Scowl tour, which includes Brooklyn shows on 9/29 at Meadows and 9/30 at Saint Vitus. All dates are listed below.
Scowl’s song “Psychic Dance Routine” was also just given a dancey new remix by Nuovo Testamento.
Scowl’s Kat Moss says, “Working with Nuevo Testamento on remixing Psychic Dance Routine started out as a dreamlike possibility for us! We are huge fans of 80’s influenced dance music and NT is the top of our list of artists crushing the style. We are ecstatic that NT agreed to work with us and that they are equally as excited. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the track reimagined and hopefully dance along.”
Nuovo Testamento adds, “Some of us have deep roots in hardcore so we were excited for the chance to play with Psychic Dance Routine and make it disco. We wanted to honor the song’s standout riff and Kat’s unique presence while making it a full-throttle club track, which was a lot of fun. We’re fans of Scowl and are thrilled to share this, we had a blast working with them.”
