Hear clips of Refused covers by Touché Amoré, Gel, Quicksand & Cult of Luna

Yesterday, Refused announced that they’re breaking up again, and they’re going out with a bang. They’re doing a North American farewell tour in 2025 with support from Quicksand, and they’re also releasing a 25th anniversary edition of their classic 1998 album The Shape Of Punk To Come that includes The Shape Of Punk To Come Obliterated, an album with covers/remixes of every song by the aforementioned Quicksand, as well as Touché Amoré, Gel, Snapcase, IDLES, Zulu, Cold Cave, Fucked Up, Cult of Luna, IGORR, Brutus, and Ho99o9. Today, they launched pre-orders, along with some clips of four of the covers.

They’ve shared snippets of Gel’s cover of “Worms Of The Senses / Faculties Of The Skull,” Quicksand’s cover of “The Liberation Frequency,” Cult of Luna’s cover of “Tannhäuser / Derive” and Touché Amoré’s cover of “The Apollo Programme Was A Hoax.” The snippets are short, but they all seem like pretty awesome interpretations that strike a great balance between doing justice to Refused and bringing their own flavors to it. Refused’s tour with Quicksand begins in NYC on March 21 at Brooklyn Paramount. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday (9/13) at 10 AM local time. All dates are listed below.
