Just two days after Deafheaven announced their new album Lonely People With Power and released its excellent, very heavy lead single “Magnolia,” they’ve announced a headlining tour in support of the album. It kicks off on April 19 at The Belasco in LA, a few weeks after the album comes out, and it finds Deafheaven joined by two great opening bands: melodic death metal torch-carriers Gatecreeper (who released one of our favorite albums of 2024 with Dark Superstition) and rising heavy shoegazers Trauma Ray (who recently followed up a string of EPs with their debut LP Chameleon).
The tour treks across North America through May 23, surrounding stops at US festivals Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville, followed by a trip overseas for more festivals, including Outbreak. NYC gets two stops: May 14 at Irving Plaza and May 15 at Warsaw.
Pre-sales for the tour begin today (1/29) at noon ET (call 747-326-5494 to get the password), and remaining tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday (1/31) at 10 AM local. All dates are listed below.
