Nickelodeon series Yo Gabba Gabba! entertained kids from 2007 – 2015, and it pleased some parents as well with its hip musical guests which included The Killers, Mos Def, Biz Markie, Kurt Vile, Ladytron, MGMT, Devo, The Clientele, Paul Williams and more. Music was in the show’s blood: it was co-created by Christian Jacobs of ska band The Aquabats. The series is now getting a streaming reboot for AppleTV+ titled Yo Gabba GabbaLand! It premieres August 9.
Yo Gabba GabbaLand! will features the characters from the original series along with new host Kammy Kam (Kamryn Smith). Among the guests announced in the official press release are Reggie Watts, Diplo, Flea, Sam Richardson, Gillian Jacobs, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Lauren Lapkus, and Chelsea Peretti. Billboard reports that the musical guests, who will have songs about each episode’s theme, also include Anderson .Paak, Portugal. The Man, Thundercat, Betty Who, The Linda Lindas, Miyavi, Cory Wong & Antwaun Stanley, Kurt Vile, The Drums and The Interrupters.
