NYC musician and songwriter Zoh Amba, who has collaborated with Thurston Moore, Shahzad Ismaily, Steve Gunn and more, has signed with Matador and announced their debut album for the label, Eyes Full, which will be out June 5. The album features Dirty Three’s Jim White on drums and Kevin Hyland on guitar.
For those who know Zoh as an avant garde saxophonist, this is not that; they have returned to their Tennessee roots with an album of folk songs. “I hope these songs touch people’s hearts,” Amba says. “They’re about people who really need to be seen and heard.” The first single is “Another Time” and you can watch the video below.
Zoh will be on tour with Folk Bitch Trio this spring and Courtney Barnett this summer, but before that they’ll play NYC’s Night Club 101 on April 17 with Superfan. All dates are listed below.
