Yo La Tengo announce 2024 Hanukkah run at Bowery Ballroom

It’s that time again! After wrapping up a pair of Jersey City shows at White Eagle Hall on Tuesday night (9/24), Yo La Tengo have officially announced the return of their annual Hanukkah run for 2024. The eight shows will happen at Bowery Ballroom on December 25 – January 1, and tickets go on sale Monday, September 30 at 10 AM ET, with an artist presale starting Friday, September 27 at 10 AM ET.

Yo La Tengo don’t repeat songs throughout the run, and each night has a surprise music and comedy opener, and special guest(s) who join them for their set. There’s also usually another special guest for the encore, and proceeds go to a different charity every night. It’s one of the great NYC holiday traditions.

The 2023 Hanukkah run featured appearances from Sun Ra Arkestra, John Early, The Frogs’ Jimmy Flemion, Janeane Garofalo, Lambchop’s big band, The Dictators’ Andy Shernoff, Dina Hashem, The Feelies, Ronnie Chieng, Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, Meg Baird, Damon & Naomi, Charlie Saufley, Mia Jackson, Beach House, Todd Barry, Psychedelic Furs’ Joe McGinty, Danny Tunick, Steve Gunn, Ryan Sawyer, David Sedaris, The Aislers Set, David Cross, The Bangles’ Vicki Peterson, and more.
