We haven’t heard from indie rock greats Versus in a while, on record at least — their last album was 2010’s On The Ones And Threes — but they’re back in force in 2019 on a new label (Ernest Jenning Record Co. after two LPs on Merge) and with two new records. They’ve got a full-length album on the way this summer but first they’ll release the Ex Nihilo EP on May 3. They’ve lost none of their ability for making memorable, hook-laden indie rock as the EP’s lead track, “Invisible Love,” shows That song makes its premiere in this post and you can listen below.
Meanwhile, two other Versus-related groups — Richard and Edward Baluyut’s pre-Versus group Flower and James Baluyut’s group +/- (Plus/Minus) — have also signed with EJRC with plans for new records.
