The Messthetics (Fugazi’s Joe Lally & Brendan Canty + guitarist Anthony Pirog) have a busy tour schedule ahead, including a stop at the Newport Jazz Festival in early August. Right after that they’ll hook up with frequent collaborator, saxophonist James Brandon Lewis (with whom they made an album this year) for a string of dates. Some of those shows are with their DC buddies Scream.
The run with JBL hits Brooklyn’s Union Pool on August 7.
The Messthetics also have dates with Mdou Moctar this fall — only Toronto is with James Brandon Lewis — including White Eagle Hall on October 3.
