The Hold Steady have announced the tenth annual edition of their “Massive Nights” NYC show series, happening on Wednesday, December 3 – Saturday, December 6 at Brooklyn Bowl. All four shows are billed as “an evening with” the band, and each will feature two sets. They call it their “favorite time of year in the world of The Hold Steady,” and they’ve revealed themes for each night, saying, “we’re pulling out all the stops:”
Wed, Dec 3: Storytellers Set
Our first-ever seated show at Brooklyn Bowl. Stripped-down versions, deep cuts, and a fresh take on the THS catalog. Standing tix available.Thu, Dec 4: Separation Sunday
A full-album play for the 20th anniversary, followed by a second set of favorites and surprises.Fri–Sat, Dec 5–6: Surprise Albums
Each night features a different surprise album in full, followed by another set of classics.
There are also two add-ons: a pub quiz with quizmaster Martin Fitzgerald on Thursday, December 4, and a soundcheck and happy hour on Friday, December 5.
Tickets go on sale Friday, August 1 at 10 AM ET, with various presales starting Tuesday, July 29 at 12 PM ET.
Ahead of Massive Nights, The Hold Steady play Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on September 5, and Craig Finn also has solo shows lined up, including dates with The Mountain Goats, Patterson Hood of Drive-By Truckers, an NYC show at Le Poisson Rouge on October 25, and more. See all dates below.
