The Cure‘s first album in 16 years, Songs of a Lost World, will be out in less than a month, and they’ve just announced they’ll celebrate with a pair of performances for the BBC. The big one is a concert at London’s BBC Radio Theatre on October 30 which will be broadcast via BBC 2 on Halloween. It’s a free show, if you’re in London that day, and you can enter the ticket lottery for your chance to attend. Registration is open through October 9 at 9 PM GMT.
The band has also recorded a BBC 6 Music radio session that will air on Halloween during Huw Stephens show (4-7 PM GMT, which is 11 AM – 2 PM Eastern).
UPDATE: Robert Smith has taken to twitter to give a little more info: “A WHISPER… ALBEIT WE WILL BE PLAYING NEW SONGS, THE BBC SESSIONS IS NOT A SOALW ‘ALBUM LAUNCH’ SHOW… STAY TUNED…” That still sounds like an album launch show to us but we’ll find out on 10/30.
