MJ Lenderman was scheduled to begin the next leg of his tour with his band The Wind in Atlanta on October 3, but he’s postponed the first few dates following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene. “Due to the ongoing natural disaster and humanitarian crisis in Western North Carolina as a result of Hurricane Helene, where most of MJ Lenderman’s band and their families are based, we have no choice but to postpone the first few dates of the upcoming Manning Fireworks tour,” a message on his social media reads. “Our tour will now begin this Sunday in Knoxville. Please stay tuned for additional information regarding rescheduled shows for Atlanta and Nashville.”
He also shared a list of local places to donate and mutual aid sources, which you can see with his statement below.
The Nashville show would’ve been his third in a short time; he was there last month for AMERICANAFEST, including a duo show at Third Man Records with his Wednesday bandmate Karly Hartzman, and a set at the ANTI- Showcase where Waxahatchee joined him on “She’s Leaving You.”
Hartzman had also shared an update earlier this week, saying she’d flown to Asheville from New York and gotten stuck there during and after the storm, and confirming that Lenderman and his family were safe.
Lenderman’s tour includes NYC shows this month at Music Hall of Williamsburg on October 25, 26, and 27, and in 2025 at Brooklyn Steel on April 29 and 30, with This is Lorelei on night one and Nap Eyes on night two.
