’90s era NYC band Soul Coughing recently announced that they’re reuniting for their first tour in 25 years starting in September. After tickets went on sale to the general public on Friday, they added a new show in San Diego, which now begins the run – it happens on September 10 at Belly Up, and tickets are on sale now.
In addition to the new show, they also moved several previously announced shows to larger venues, in St. Paul (now at Palace Theatre on September 24), Chicago (now at Riviera Theatre on September 25), Boston (now at Roadrunner on September 29), and Philadelphia (now at Franklin Music Hall on October 3).
Two Brooklyn shows, happening at Brooklyn Steel on October 4 and 5, wrap up the tour, and you can see updated dates below.
In a statement about the reunion, Mike Doughty said it “took a little convincing for some of” the band — Sebastian Steinberg, Mark degli Antoni and Yuval Gabay — to get onboard with reuniting, “but I was really gratified that everyone wanted to take part in that again — to see if we can be a great band again…”
“We just decided to let bygones be bygones,” he continued. “You know, everybody had issues. Our fans are going to be shocked, man. I can’t even believe how much they’re going to be shocked.”
