Scissor Sisters reuniting for 2025 tour where they’ll play debut album in full

Scissor Sisters are getting back together to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album by playing it in full on a 2025 tour. The tour, their first shows since 2012, will feature Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Del Marquis; Ana Matronic is sitting this one out due to prior engagements.

“It’s the 20th anniversary of our debut album, so it really feels like the right time to revisit all the intense excitement of that moment,” says Shears, who adds that the impetus for this was inspired by a lockdown screening of their Live at the O2 concert film. “I don’t think I’d seen that show since it was filmed in 2007, but we were all kind of surprised by how great it was. And chatting with fans during the screening really brought back what a special moment it was for all of us.”

“There’s something really special about us being a gay band, a queer band, who really pushed into the mainstream with that album,” Babydaddy says. “We want to revisit that because there weren’t as many queer acts breaking through in that way 20 years ago. We do acknowledge that we did something pretty unique back then just by putting ourselves out there as queer people. We put queer culture in the mainstream at a time when there wasn’t much of it there.”

So far dates are in the UK and Ireland, where Scissor Sisters were much more popular (their debut went to #1, and all five singles from it went Top 20), but surely there will be at least a few North American shows, like NYC where it all began. Stay tuned. Tickets for the shows go on sale Friday, November 8.
