Kalamazoo, Michigan emo band Saturdays At Your Place will follow 2023’s excellent Always Cloudy EP and split with Summerbruise and Shoplifter with a new full-length album, These Things Happen, on September 12 via Wax Bodega (pre-order). It was produced by Always Cloudy collaborator Tyler Floyd, and first single “Waste Away” picks right up where that EP left off. It’s a grand-yet-shambolic emo anthem that kinda sounds like Modern Baseball with Kinsella riffs, and SAYP continue to be very, very good at this kind of thing. The video was co-directed by longtime Hot Mulligan videographer Michael Herrick and Hot Mulligan vocalist Tades Sanville, the latter of whom makes his directorial debut here. Check it out below.
SAYP also announced a lengthy fall North American tour with fellow emo fifth-wavers Carly Cosgrove and Riley!, followed by a Europe/UK tour in January and February of next year. A presale for all dates is underway now, with the general public on-sale beginning Friday (7/11) at 10 AM ET.
The tour includes a Brooklyn stop on November 14 at Elsewhere Hall. All dates are listed below.
