Norwegian dance duo Röyksopp have announced a new album, The True Electric, which will be out April 11 via Dog Triumph. The album features new versions of songs from throughout their catalog which they debuted on their 2023 True Electric tour. They say: “True Electric consists of recordings and renditions, meant to capture the essence of our live shows bearing the same name. The idea was to put an emphasis on the clubbier aspects of our music, as well as returning to our roots within the realms of electronic music.”
The album features contributions from Robyn, Alison Goldfrapp, Susanne Sundfør, Astrid S, and more. The first single is a new version of their 2005 single “What Else Is There?” which features vocals from Fever Ray. Watch the video for that below.
Röyksopp have also announced a North American DJ tour which includes two NYC shows: Elsewhere Rooftop on May 17, and then they’ll move inside later that same night to play a late night gig at Elsewhere Hall. All dates are listed below.
