Circuit des Yeux, aka Haley Fohr, has announced a new album, Halo on the Inside, due out on March 14 via Matador. She worked on it at nights in her basement studio while living alone, and she says, “I found a very surprising, small voice in me, and it was deep, deep behind my heart,” adding, “Through the process of making this music I was able to rewind myself to a time before fear. And in the absence of fear I found the intimate beat of sex, love, and melody.” She worked on the album with producer Andrew Broder, and you can see the cover art and tracklist below.
The first single from Halo on the Inside is eerie synth-pop track “Megaloner,” which Fohr calls “an anthem for the place that exists after an action and inside its consequence. Prices are being paid and hope is our currency. I’m singing about endurance, faith, agency, and the singular, unbelievable path toward one’s own fate.” Watch the video below.
Circuit des Yeux is on tour now supporting Low’s Alan Sparhawk solo, and also has full band shows coming up in April and May, including NYC’s Public Records on April 19 with Leya. See all dates below.
