Philly heavy band Rid Of Me will release their sophomore LP, Access To The Lonely, on November 3 via Knife Hits Records (pre-order). The album follows their 2021 debut Traveling, and was recorded with Matt Weber, mixed by Scott Evans, and mastered by Matt Barnhart. Check out the artwork and tracklist for Access To The Lonely.
Today we’re premiering “Rid Of Me,” the eponymous lead single off the new album. It’s a dense, thrashing track with brief periods of respite between slamming choruses. “This song is about someone I love. Someone who was a very close friend and who I trusted implicitly. They lied to me. Broke my heart. I am still hurt. The lyrics and title ‘Rid of Me’ hold a special significance. I will forever miss them while simultaneously / I do not want to know them. Rid Of Me have two shows coming up, both in and/or around NYC. One is a mini music festival being thrown by the new online record store, boutique record label, and soon-to-be-open brick-and-mortar retail storefront in Ossining, NY Den of Wax. It’s called Den of Wax’s First Fest and it goes down on August 19 at the Bethany Arts Community in Ossining with The Iron Roses, Man On Man, Jose Prieto of MakeWar, Chris Conde, and more.
