London quartet Pynch have announced their second album, Beautiful Noise, which will be out October 3 via Chillburn Recordings / State51 Conspiracy. (Howling at a Concrete Moon, their debut, was released in 2023.) They call the album a “trip though love, death, faith and the pursuit of meaning through art.”
The first single from the album is “Post-Punk / New-Wave,” a cheeky trip through British indie guitar music of the last 35 years: “It’s Post-Punk, it’s New Wave with a little bit of Shoegaze / I want it all, I want it all,” frontman Spencer Enock croons. “I sing about my feelings and the things that I believe in / Try to write them down, try to write them down / I’m playing with a drum machine, I’m glued to my laptop screen / I don’t know what I’m doing but maybe that’s where the truth is.”
“We wanted to announce Beautiful Noise with Post-Punk / New-Wave because it captures the playful spirit of the record and in a way tells the story of the band through its lyrics,” Enoch says. “It’s an ironic but sincere take on making DIY music in the modern world and I love that it feels like a pop song without really having a chorus – like a slacker rock Band on the Run.”
