Philly darkwave duo Korine will release their fourth album, A Flame in the Dark, on March 28 via Born Losers Records. “This album is very special to us both, potentially our purest and most ‘us’ collection of songs we’ve made together,” say Morgy Ramone and Trey Frye.
The first single from the album is the driving, anthemic “Anhedonia” which will appeal to fans of The Cure and New Order, but also Boy Harsher and The Drums. These two know how to write catchy songs. Here’s how they describe this one: “A depressive post-punk anthem, swirling with the woes of the world. An addictive riff accentuating feelings of general malaise and dissatisfaction. A fantasy of turning disgust into love like alchemy with sound.” The single premieres in this post and you can listen below.
Korine will be on tour in Europe in February with dates leading up to the 2025 Grauzone Festival in The Netherlands. They say North American dates will be announced soon. Check out their European schedule below.
