Former New Order and Joy Division bassist Peter Hook has been playing with his own band, The Light, since 2010, performing whole albums by his old bands. He’s just announced that in 2025 they’ll be playing New Order’s 2001 album Get Ready, in full along with a second set of NO/JD favorites.
This will be the first time Peter Hook and the Light have toured this record, and dates kick off May 22 in Montreal and wrap up June 14 in Miami. There’s currently no NYC stop on the tour — the closest they come is Buffalo, which is not very close — but all dates are listed below.
“Get Ready was a honeymoon record,” says Hook. “Looking back now it was very enjoyable to make, and I think is massively underrated. It did sort the wheat from the chaff and led to a New Order mk2 which played better but had lost a naivety whilst gaining a maturity. Barney and I became a ‘power couple’ in Manchester during the making of the record but, sadly, the old problems recurred when we came to play live. The writing was on the wall from then on. The two of us worked very hard to make this a great record and I think we succeeded. I am looking forward to playing all the tracks, many of which have never been played live before. The Light will shine through … Get Ready!”

Get Ready was a comeback album for New Order who had burned out and broken up after 1993’s Republic. It was much more of a rock record than they had ever made before, and featured contributions from Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie. The album went Top 10 in the UK and spawned the hit single “Crystal,” the video for which gave The Killers their name.
