Musician, singer, songwriter, and Arthur Russell-collaborator Steven Hall released a sprawling collection of his work as Nirosta Steel spanning over 40 years, My Skyscraper, last month. It’s been getting quite a reception (9.0 Pitchfork review included) and generating a lot of excitement and discussion (including from Bill and Dave on the July 7 episode of BV Weekly), and now he’s announced a pair of NYC shows.
They happen on September 10 and 11 at Night Club 101, the former home of Pyramid Club, where Hall previously performed with Russell many times. He’ll be joined by Time Wharp on night one and Pleasure Systems on night two, with DJ sets from Kassie Krut on night one and Chanel Beads on night two. Tickets already sold out, but hopefully there will be more shows announced; stay tuned.
