Neil Young and Stephen Stills have announced a California show to benefit The Painted Turtle, a camp for children with serious medical conditions, and The Bridge School, which supports education for children with severe speech and physical impairments and was founded by Neil’s ex-wife, Pegi Young. “Harvest Moon” happens in the daytime on Saturday, October 5 at The Painted Turtle’s Lake Hughes, CA campsite, and will also feature marimba ensemble Masanga, more artists to be announced, and “family-friendly activities, including face painting, food trucks, and much more.” Tickets go on sale Friday, September 6 at 10 AM PT.
This is the second show Neil has announced since cancelling the final 10 shows of his tour with Crazy Horse; he’s also playing Farm Aid in September, and recently discussed planning an East Coast theater tour with Micah Nelson and the Promise of the Real rhythm section. Stay tuned for more on that.
