LA band Cheekface today have released their fifth album Middle Spoon. Greg Katz continues to navigate our difficult world with insight, humor and big hooks. The album features rapper McKinley Dixon on a song called “Military Gum,” baritone sax from Jeff Rosenstock on “Flies,” trumpet and trombone from JER on “Don’t Dream,” backup vocals from Catbite’s Brit Luna and Tim Hildebrand on “Rude World,” and more.
They’ve also shared a video for “Living Lo-Fi” which features Chris Farren in an “ill-fated attempt to make a music video that gets worse and worse, culminating in a dramatic courtroom finale.” Watch the video and listen to Middle Spoon below.
Cheekface’s spring tour, which is with Pacing, starts April 3 in San Diego and hits Brooklyn on April 25 at Elsewhere Hall. They’ve also got a UK co-headline tour with Martha later in the year. All dates are listed below.
