Katie Von Schleicher follows up 2023’s fantastic A Little Touch of Schleicher in the Night with an ethereal, woodwinds-filled new single, “Pilea.”
“Pilea’ is a song about taking care of things that you love, especially things that rely on you to take care of them,” says Katie. “In this case, a pilea plant and my bird Ursula. The music was written around the same time as Touch but recorded after, and with some of the same players—swapped out the string arrangements of the record for Alec Spiegelman’s bass clarinet. In the end, Ursula did eat the pilea, but I did my best.” Listen to “Pilea” below.
Katie also has announced new spring tour dates, starting with Brooklyn’s The Owl on April 27 with Thanya Iyer, and Tubby’s Kingston on May 2 with Pearla. The tour ends with three shows supporting Frankie Cosmos, and all dates are listed below.
