HUG, the collaborative trio of Devendra Banhart, Gyan Riley and Noah Georgeson, have announced their self-titled debut album which is out September 11 via Luaka Bop. They’ll also tour for the album this fall and dates are below.
The connective tissue here is Noah Georgeson who grew up with Gyan Riley (son of minimalist composer Terry Riley) in Northern California hippie town Nevada City, and collaborated with Banhart on 2017’s Osian 2021’s Refuge. “Though this album came together in 3 weeks, we have been working towards this collective for much longer,’ the trio say. “We recorded this with no grand plan, but in hopes to capture the childlike wonder we all still crave.”

The HUG tour starts in NYC at Le Poisson Rouge on October 8, and includes stops at MassMoCA, and in Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco and more.
