UK indiepop icons Heavenly have announced details of their first album in nearly 30 years. It’s titled Highway To Heavenly and will be out February 27 via the band’s own Skep Wax Records. The album was made with original members Amelia Fletcher, Peter Momtchiloff, Cathy Rogers and Rob Pursey, along with current drummer Ian Button.
The album includes last year’s single “Portland Town,” and they’ve just shared “Excuse Me,” a bouncy earworm recalling “a teenage romance with the nerdiest person in school.” It’s very in tune with Heavenly’s jangly style and you can watch the video for it below.
Heavenly will be on a North American tour this spring and have just announced West Coast dates in May including San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland and Vancouver. East Coast / Midwest shows are in April, including NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on 4/18 with Jeanines and Swansea Sound (which includes Amelia, Rob, and Ian from Heavenly plus Hue from The Pooh Sticks and The Dentists’ Bob Collins).
