Guided by Voices had a busy 2023, releasing three albums and celebrating their 40th anniversary. This year looks to be equally action-packed, with the band’s 40th album on the horizon. Details on that have not been announced, but GBV will be on tour this spring and summer, with stops in Nashville, Pittsburgh, Denver, NYC, Boston, Chicago, DC, Salt Lake City (Kilby Block Party) and more. There are cool openers lined up along the way as well, including Kiwi Jr, Aeon Station, The Moles, The Gotobeds, Disq, and more. All dates are listed below.
The NYC show is at Irving Plaza on June 21 with The Moles, and tickets for all headline shows go on sale Friday, January 26 at 10 AM local time.
Meanwhile, Robert Pollard has launched another side project titled Rip Van Winkle whose debut EP, The Grand Rapids, will be out February 23 via Splendid Research. No word on whether this is solo or a collaboration but we’ve got the premiere of “Prose Kaiser” from the EP, which is hooky as you’d expect from Pollard but with more of a post-punky attack.
