Great Grandpa returned over the summer with their first new single since their 2019 album Four of Arrows, “Kid,” and news that they’d signed to Run for Cover. They’ve now followed it with another new track, “Doom;” according to a press release it was written by Pat Goodwin after the release of Four of Arrows, and took on “many iterations” before they recorded it this year. Like “Kid,” it’s a stunner, with a solemn open and a mathy middle passage that recalls Radiohead, all building to an anthemic finish. Hear it below.
Along with the new single, Great Grandpa have announced their first tour in five years. The short US run includes East Coast dates in January and February followed by a couple of California shows in March. See all dates below.
