Masked Swedish psych-masters Goat have announced a new album, Medicine, which will be out October 13 via Rocket Recordings. (Preorder UK /EU and America.) The band say this one is centered around “the impermanence of life in different ways: sickness, relationships, love, death and how our time is finite,” saying the titular ‘medicine’ could be chemical or spiritual. “For our families, friends, society, this could be done through the use of psychedelics, through meditation, through learning from other people, staying curious and never settling for a ‘solid’ identity.”
The first single from the album is “Unemployment Office” which is a little different for Goat; instead of an Afrobeat-inflected wig-out, this is slow-simmering, organ-infused psych. Watch the video below.
