Carly Rae Jepsen played 3 sets at Rockwood after lightning cut Pier 17 show short (pics, video)

Carly Rae Jepsen‘s first of two shows this week at The Rooftop at Pier 17 got cut short last night (8/7) due to a thunderstorm. Carly had played four songs, and started her fifth, “Joshua Tree,” when the set was halted. In attendee-taken video she addresses the crowd, saying the cancellation is a “safety issue” and proclaiming “no one’s getting electrocuted tonight!” after being handed an inflatable sword by someone in the audience. Watch that, and see videos of the four songs she got to play, below.

Posting on social media after the shortened set, Carly announced a show at the very intimate Rockwood Music Hall for the “first 150” Pier 17 ticketholders that night with 11 PM doors, and a matinee show at 2 PM today (8/8). She wound up playing three short sets at Rockwood, with new people let in for each. See pictures and video clips from those shows below, as well.

Carly just released The Loveliest Time, a companion to last year’s The Loneliest Time.

Rockwood Music Hall is currently fundraising to stay open.
