Frank Black has announced details of the 30th anniversary reissue of his second solo album, Teenager of the Year, which will be out January 17 via 4AD. This double LP set on gold-colored vinyl has been remastered from the original tapes by Kevin Vanbergen and cut at 45 RPM for maximum fidelity. It also comes with a gatefold sleeve featuring new liner notes by Frank and keyboardist/co-producer Eric Drew Feldman. Preorders are available.
The new vinyl pressing coincides with Frank’s Teenager of the Year tour where he’s gotten his band from the era, including Feldman, back together. US dates kick off January 15 in San Francisco and wrap up in NYC at Brooklyn Steel on February 1.
Before that, Frank has announced a few New England solo acoustic shows happening in Brattleboro, Portsmouth, and Newport in December. All dates are listed below.
In other news, Pixies just released a new album, and will be on tour in 2025 with Kurt Vile & The Violators, playing Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde in full.
