Josh Tillman has announced Mahashmashana, his sixth album as Father John Misty, which will be out November 22 via Sub Pop in North America and Bella Union in UK and EU. He co-produced it with Drew Erickson while Jonathan Wilson served as executive producer..
The album includes this summer’s excellent “I Guess Time Makes Fools of Us All” and the new single is the seven-minute widescreen epic “Screamland” that features Low’s Alan Sparhawk on guitar and a video by Estefania Kröl. “The video is a visual journey through the depths of ‘Screamland,’ capturing the essence of both the music and the artists, “says Kröl. “Father John Misty blends seamlessly into the scene, becoming a part of the city, a living echo of ‘Screamland.’” Watch the video below.
