It’s been a few years since MoMA hosted live music in the summer, but they’ve brought their “Summer Sounds” series back, happening every Saturday now through August 31 in the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden, from 4-8 PM. Entrance is included with museum admission, and members get in for free.
Moor Mother and DJ Haram kicked off the series this past Saturday (7/20), and still to come are Nourished by Time and Lovie (July 27); Eartheater and Ren G (August 3); Jlin and Suzi Analogue (August 17); and Carl Craig (August 24). There are also shows on August 10 and 31 with lineups TBA. Stay tuned, and find more details here.
UPDATE: They’ve added DJ sets from Kelly Lee Owens and 8ULENTINA on August 10, and Mabe Fratti, Arushi Jain, and DJ’J on August 31.
