Dromfest, the ’90s indie rock festival in the Catskill, NY hosted by Dromedary Records, will hold its 2025 edition over Labor Day Weekend (August 29-31) at The Avalon. Tickets are on sale now, and as in years past, they’ve gotten a few groups to play their first shows in a very long time. This year it’s Homestead Records vets Phantom Tollbooth (one of only a handful of shows since the ’80s) and The Dambuilders (first show in 29 years). Here’s the three-day lineup:
Friday, August 29 is headlined by Sunburned Hand of the Man, plus sets from Chris Brokaw, and Mission of Burma‘s Roger Clark Miller with his Solo Guitar Ensemble.
Saturday, August 30 is headlined by Yo La Tengo and Madder Rose and also features Scrawl, Moviola, Bunnygrunt, Beth Kaplan, New Radiant Storm King, Vehicle Flips, Lupo Citta, Five Hundred Dollars, and Erin Barth-Dwyer (Overheard), plus poetry readings from Annie Christian, Bel Simek and Karen Schoemer.
Sunday, August 31 is headlined by Das Damen, plus Homestead Records vets Phantom Tollbooth, The Dambuilders (lineup: Dave Derby, Claudia Chopek, Sean Eden of Luna) and Brendan Canty of Fugazi), Cathedral Ceilings, Rebecca Gates (Spinanes), The Thalia Zedek Band, Mark Robinson (Unrest, Air Miami), French, Fly Ashtray, King in Yellow, plus a special screening of the documentary film Flipside by Chris Wilcha.
