Acetone playing 3 Brooklyn shows in June

It’s a been a good time lately to be a fan of ’90s-era slowcore adjacent band Acetone. The band, who broke up in 2001 following the suicide of singer/bassist Richie Lee, saw their entire catalogue got reissued last year, a live album came out for Record Store Day 2024 and the surviving members — drummer Steve Hadley and guitarist Mark Lightcap — have been playing shows. Up until now they’ve just happened on the West Coast, but Acetone will be in NYC next month for three shows at Brooklyn Music School on June 20-22.

The shows will feature Hadley and Lightcap, along with special guests to be announced, playing Acetone classics from throughout their catalog. Tickets are on sale now.
