Fresh off releasing his new solo album Ogilala, Smashing Pumpkins frontman William Patrick Corgan (don’t call him Billy anymore) plays two consecutive NYC shows this weekend, this being the second.

San Francisco’s The Fresh & Onlys released Wolf Lie Down today this summer, their first album in three years. It’s a bit different than what they’ve done before, a little more sonically ambitious, with arrangements that rise to match Tim Cohen’s baritone howl.
The Courtneys, Versing, Cotillon @ The Park Church Co-Op
The Courtneys are from Vancouver, but sound more like a late-’80s jangly group from New Zealand. So it makes sense their most recent album came out on iconic Kiwi label Flying Nun.
Sasheer Zamata Party Time! w/ Janeane Garofalo, Sam Jay, Clark Jones, Kate Davis, DJ Donwill @ The Bell House
“Sasheer Zamata (SNL, This American Life) likes to party, spend time with friends and do shows. Watch her do all three of those things at the same time! There will be laughter, merriment, and probably a lot of booze.”
Guns N’ Roses @ Madison Square Garden
The cheekily titled “Not In This Lifetime Tour” reunites Axl, Slash and Duff and this is GN’R’s second of three MSG shows.
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Justin Love @ Wellmont Theatre
Bronx rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie makes auto-tuned, melodic sad-boy rap of the Drake/Future variety (and opened for both of them on tour last year), and his recently-released debut album The Bigger Artist is a pretty fun record. He plays Montclair tonight and NYC in November.
